Many us need to follow an exercise program, in order to remain healthy. Below, you’ll find several good reasons why you should start exercising now.

1. Contributes to fat loss

It is well proven from scientific research all over the world that physical exercise contributes to weight loss. If you burn more calories than you consume through nutrition, you’ll lose weight. When you exercise, you burn more calories than when you don’t. It’s really simple – the more you exercise, the more weight or fat you’ll lose.

2. Prevent disease

The chances of developing several various diseases has been proven to decrease when exercising. These diseases include heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and the stroke.

Around 4 out of 5 deaths caused by heart disease and cancer, are linked to factors that include stress and lack of exercise. We all know that diabetes increases the chance for heart attacks and strokes. What this shows, is that many of the risk factors and diseases caused by not exercising are working in conjunction to damage your health. To prevent this from happening, start exercising.

3. Improving disease

Many severe and minor diseases can be improved or even healed through regular exercise. These even include the diseases listed above. By following a regular plan, you can also decrease HDL cholesterol levels, decrease triglyceride levels,
and decrease your blood pressure as well.

Exercising on a regular basis will also reduce the risk of prostate cancer for men, breast and uterine cancer for women, and much more. All of this is scientifically proven, which is why you should start exercising today.

4. Enhance your state of mind

Everyone knows from the many scientific studies that regular exercising will lead to an increased release of endorphins in the body. These chemicals will fight depression and make you feel happy. The body releases these endorphins only 12 minutes into the workout.

There is another chemical known as serotonin that is increased during and after a workout. The increased levels of serotonin in the central nervous system is associated with feelings of well being and decreased mental depression. The chemical can also help you sleep better at night.

5. Enhance your wellness

When you are in great shape and well fit, you’ll have more energy and you’ll notice that your overall mood is improved. You will have experienced that you can stretch beyond your own limits and you know that you can do more than you thought possible.

6. Persistence

Exercising regularly will give you more energy, which can help you be more productive at home and at work. Exercising can help give your new goals a sense of purpose and give you something to focus on and aim for. This can help you increase your persistence and prevent you from going off track while you aim for your goal.

7. Social capabilities

After a workout on a regular basis you can boost your self esteem. This can help you look better and you’ll be more comfortable as well. Exercise will also help you to become more active and meet new people, which will prevent you from feeling
isolated and unsupported. Exercise will also increase your interests in sex, and can help you to improve your marriage or your partner relationship.

After knowing all of these tips and reasons to exercise, you shouldn’t hesitate to get out there and exercise. You can exercise at home or go out there and join a gym. There are several different ways that you can exercise, all you have to do
is select a few that you like. Take a little bit of time out of your day and start exercising – you’ll feel better than ever before and your body will thank you.

Malone)

There are nearly as many reasons for getting a tattoo as there are people who have them. Each person has his or her own particular reason; it may be a common reason or it may be unique, but it is nonetheless individual.

People who get a tattoo on impulse or a dare, while intoxicated, or to please someone else, are the ones who are usually less satisfied with the results. Even while holding it out as a spur-of-the-moment mistake, a person who acquires a tattoo under these circumstances are rarely happy with having it on a longterm basis. Unfortunately, these types of situations do comprise a fair percentage of the number of people who get tattoos– and later regret it. Most people who get tattoos primarily as a means of rebellion are also dissatisfied in the long-run; as they grow out of feeling the need to rebel, they grow out of enjoying the symbols of it.

For those who make an informed decision about getting a tattoo, whether they acknowledge it or not they are usually in either of two categories: those who are identifying with a group, or those who are identifying themselves as individuals. Both are using tattoos as a means of self-expression. On the extreme end of the spectrum are inmates who belong to such groups as “the Aryan Brotherhood.” A tattoo shows both members and non-members alike what group the inmate belongs to. These tattoo designs are of various codes and other oddities which they assume people who are not likewise affiliated will not understand. Most inner-city gangs also have coded tattoo designs for the same reason. In these types of instances, tattoos serve a dual-purpose: they are a means of bonding a person to a particular group, and they are a means of separating oneself from those who are outside of that group.

Some people get a tattoo simply because they want to have one. Other than not putting much careful thought into its longterm implications, nor being very selective about what particular design they want, this is not necessarily negative. For many, simply liking artwork on one’s skin is reason enough to visit a local tattoo studio, hand over a relatively-large sum of money, and have something etched into one’s skin that is intended to remain there for the rest of one’s life. The most intricate design or the most plain one can be a matter of speaking to the entire world, or something which one chooses to keep solely to oneself.

Others use this form of self-expression in a manner similar to what generations past used to do with t-shirts: to show the world what they wish to say. They choose wording, or designs which symbolize something that is meaningful to them. You can see everything from American flags and crosses to the names of who they love, and, occasionally, wording which pushes the limits of the First Amendment. In the past, people wore what they believed, stood for, and cared about on their shirts; these days tattoos often serve the same purpose.

Many people use tattoos as memorials. Tattoos can be designed for remembrance of a deceased loved one, of course, but they can also be designed for the purpose of keeping in mind other places or situations which a person does not wish to forget. When there is someone or something that you wish to hold close to your heart, a tattoo can be a beautiful way of doing it. Photographs and other souvenirs are not permanent– tattoos are.

Why do people get tattoos? The reasons are as varied as there are individuals. Whether you yourself have a tattoo or not, if you know someone who does, it is important to realize that you do not know what that person’s reasons are, unless he or she decides to tell you.

By Sarah Twist

Undoubtedly, burning fat is about consuming healthy food. When we eat right, eat healthy food, we do not have to bother about burning fat anymore. Working out at the gym for hours burning calories will not reduce your weight and burn enough of your fat when you do not consider what you consume. It means that burning fat by only doing exercise is not enough. Yes, you can burn fat and lose some of your weight by doing exercise but if you do not maintain what goes in from your mouth, soon you will get back the fat you burn. The root problem is controlling what goes into your body. And consuming healthy food is the solution.

What does it mean by consuming healthy food? The term healthy is very much dependent on the amount and frequency in consuming the food. There is no single food that contains all the nutrition our body needs. Thus, consuming healthy food actually talks about series of eating healthy foods over time, in other words, having healthy eating lifestyle. You do not get healthier right after you eat a lettuce; neither do you get significantly higher cholesterol by eating a piece of fried chicken. It is the series of eating those foods that affects your health. It is the constant action of eating the food you choose that affects your body. Thus, healthy eating lifestyle is what is important.

How to choose healthy food? There are two common characteristics of healthy food. First, the food is unprocessed. Second, the food is organic.

First, the food is unprocessed. It means we eat what the nature gives. Most of the food is provided on our table after several processes. They are boiled, fried, grilled, or preserved. Most of these processes do not make the food healthier. The unprocessed food includes fresh fruits and fresh vegetable. To name some, whole grains, legumes, raw nuts, fresh sprouts, etc. Probably the only process that the food can go through is the process of cleaning. The food has to be made fresh on our table as if we eat it directly after we pluck them.

Why do we avoid processing food? After processed, the food may lose the very nutrition that our body needs; lose entirely or some in quantity. For example, we lose healthy vegetable nutrients after we cook them. After processed, the food may contain ingredient that is dangerous for our body. For example, higher concentration of heterocyclic amines (HCA) or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) after grilling process. HCA and PAH can cause cancer. PAH is also found in tobacco smoke.

econd, the food is organic. It means we eat pesticides-free food. The food is natural, not genetically engineered, and irradiated. This kind of food offers you the highest nutrition and the purest taste of all the food available. Choose the organic food when you go to restaurant. Include organic food in your monthly shopping list. Select packaged food that has organic label, although you might need to check further on this one. Go organic.

Not only the selection of kind of food that are concerned, but also the nutrition that the food contains. Among carbohydrates, protein, and fat, protein is the one that uses more calories to burn. What does it mean? It means when you consume more protein, your body burns more calories. When your body burns more calories, your body is using more energy. It is identical to have you run in a longer period on your treadmill. It burns more of your body fat. Thus, the food that you consume determines how you will burn fat and lose weight.

Finally, your dream to burn more fat is not only about exercise. Exercise is, by all means, really good. But you also need to watch the food that you eat. By having healthy eating lifestyle, rest be assured that it avoids the fat you burn to come back filling up your body again. Consider healthy food as your daily menu. Filter your food choice. Get rid of those unhealthy foods. Make eating healthy food your lifestyle; choose unprocessed and organic food. You will be amazed how this can work in your progress of losing your weight.

The more you add nutrient-dense foods into your daily diet, the more success you will have with leading a healthy lifestyle. Eating junk food all the time is what made you become fat. When you return to eating traditional and natural foods, you restore your health. When the body is healthy, it can perform its own miracles.

Most people think that the way to eat better for weight loss is through bland salads and products that say Fat Free on their labels. Nothing could be further from the truth, and that is why so many people struggle with their weight. All you really need to know is that the more colorful your plate looks, the healthier it is for you to consume.

Healthy foods can be classified by their color energy, which organizes their nutritional effects, taste, and actions of their properties and common healing qualities. The following list is of food categorized by color and the reasons why each group helps a person to lose weight in a healthy way.

Colorful Healthy Foods #1. Red Foods = Protein

Red foods such as strawberries, raspberries, cherries, tomatoes, watermelon are a great source of protein. Protein is essential for weight loss because it builds muscle, and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn. What happens when you try to lose weight without eating protein? You get a sickly look like you are not getting enough nutrition. Red foods are also provide lots of vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C and beta-carotene.

Colorful Healthy Foods #2. Orange Foods = Detoxification

Eating lots of apricots, peaches, oranges, mango, sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, squash, orange/yellow peppers will help detoxify the body and help you maintain good vision, bone and tooth development. This is because they help rid your body of toxins. Orange foods also make the skin healthy so when you lose weight in a healthy way, you will not wind up with a sagging look.

Colorful Healthy Foods #3. Yellow Foods = Power

When you lack energy in your diet, it can lead to poor memory, lack of concentration, tension, irritability, digestive problems and a lack of proper nutrient absorption. Add yellow foods into your diet, such as lemons, bananas, grapefruits, rice, corn, and eggs. Energy from these foods is essential for weight loss because a busy person burns calories a lot faster than someone too sedentary to get off the couch and move around.

Colorful Healthy Foods #4. Green Foods= Well Being

Green foods such as asparagus, spinach, broccoli, romaine lettuce, zucchini, green peppers, green apples, pears, avocados, green grapes, kiwi and limes, contain the most powerful combination of nutrients in any grain, herb or food source. Not only do they maintain your energy all day long, but they will also create a sense of well-being. This means you will experience an optimum balance for total health, so you will not feel hunger cravings as much.

Colorful Healthy Foods #5. Blue And Purple Foods = Improved Circulation

These foods are considered high in anti-cancer properties, and are helpful for the voice, and the organs and glands of the neck. These foods also contain nutrients that help improve circulation after eating, so they work best when added to any meal that is high in fat which causes the body to become sluggish because blood flow slows. Blueberries, plums, grapes are all great examples.

Colorful Healthy Foods #6. No Color Food = Meal Replacement

Whenever you are in doubt, help yourself to a soy-based protein shake. This is how I lost 70 pounds in 4 months and have kept if off for over 15 years. Sometimes you need a break from traditional food, specifically to get the kind of nutrition that can only come from soy. Adding colorful fruits into a shake will help accelerate weight loss and good health even more. Want an added special bonus tip? Drinking one cup of green tea burns off almost 100 calories and speeds up metabolism at the same time!

Colorful Healthy Foods #7. Beige and Tan Foods = Danger

Last but certainly not least is the food color group you want to stay away from whenever possible. If you look at your plate and see nothing but browns, tans and beiges, chances are good that you are not getting the best nutrition possible and it will slow down your weight loss. Stay away from cookies, cakes, burgers, hot dogs, pies, donuts…you know, all the stuff that made you fat. Eating these foods in moderation is OK, but more often than not you should be replacing them with colorful foods.

Eating has different purposes but the bottom line is that the more colorful ealthy Foods are in your diet, the better chance you will have at keeping yourself healthy and at an ideal weight. Living a healthy lifestyle and developing the mindset that goes aslong with it are the compenents of weight loss that most people never grasp. Instead of struggling with diet fads and magic pills, pay more attention to the colors on your plate and you will find yourself well on your way to weight loss success.

By Greg Meggs

Heart disease is one of the main causes of death among adults worldwide. All of us know there is good healthy food for the heart. Healthy eating is all about enjoying a variety of foods from the different food groups. Unfortunately, when it comes to our health and nutrition, our society seems predisposed towards making us choose the unhealthy options. Why should you consume healthy foods for your heart? Learning to eat healthy foods is not a science reserved for the elite. For a healthy and sound body, all you need to do is substitute harmful food with healthy food alternatives.

A recent study discovered that nearly one third of the people today studied have got undetectable amounts of omega 3 fatty acids within their blood stream, putting these people at more significant possibility for heart problems, stroke, being diabetic, and cognitive complications. Omega 3 also reduces the risk of heart attack. While being a very popular and heart-healthy food rich in omega 3 fatty acids, salmon is also a very tasty food. Consistently seafood is described as “brain food” and of late experts have included “rich in Omega 3″ and “heart healthy” on labeling. To prepare a heart-healthy food, try baked salmon steak with vegetables and a salad dressed with lemon juice (instead of a vinaigrette sauce which is too rich in calories)

Brazil nuts contain mono-saturated fats that make it a healthy food for the heart. Parsley contains several important flavonoids, and this makes it a healthy food for the heart. Enjoying some dark chocolate bars is similar to obtaining the identical antioxidant content provided by a couple of glasses of burgandy or merlot wine or three servings of Asian tea extract. If you miss milk shakes, try a low-fat fruit smoothie, instead. Soluble fiber also helps keep your digestive system healthy. Apples, nuts and oats are an excellent source of soluble fiber. Eat an apple with a handful of walnuts or almonds as a healthy treat or add slices of apples to salads. In addition Nuts lower the LDL (bad) cholesterol and the risk of heart disease. Research shows that if you lower your blood cholesterol levels, you lower your risk of coronary disease and stroke. Whole grains are another source of soluble fiber and provide vitamins to help maintain a healthy heart. The soluble fiber binds with cholesterol, which is then shunted out of the body, and their level falls. These good fats will also keep your cholesterol levels low.

In spite of what the thousands of seemingly “healthy” products claim, the truth is there are no shortcuts to becoming fit and healthy. It is a conscious effort and choice. Our purpose is to help make the healthier alternative easier to choose. Most people can lower their cholesterol by choosing an active lifestyle, achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight, and eating better. Eating healthy for your heart is something everybody should attempt to do, particularly when it comes to restoring health and reducing cardiovascular disease.

More and more people are coming to the realization that they need to take steps towards finding healthy food for the heart. In today’s world of fast food restaurants, PlayStation 3 and personalized scooters we’re worrying less about our heart health and more about whether or not Paris Hilton is dating some guy named Paris. However, this is a lifestyle that many people are now moving away from as they attempt to find healthy food for the heart in order to lower cholesterol, prevent stroke, lower the chance of heart disease and prevent heart attack. Here are some examples of heart healthy foods that are easy for you to incorporate into your everyday diet.

Oatmeal is a healthy food for the heart that many of us grew up on. Your grandmother loved it your mom likes it a lot, and sooner or later you will learn to enjoy a good old-fashioned bowl of oatmeal in order to keep your heart working properly well into old age. Oats are packed full of minerals, vitamins and cholesterol-lowering fiber. Even the FDA has jumped on the oats bandwagon allowing for health claims about this product like its ability to reduce your risk for heart disease to be placed on packaging of products that contain oats. This healthy food for the heart can be served warm and combined with things like strawberries, bananas and blueberries to add fiber, minerals and additional vitamins. You can also utilize oats instead of bread crumbs when making dishes like meatballs, meatloaf or poultry breading.

If it was good enough for Popeye’s heart its good enough for yours. The next healthy food for the heart is something that we all grew up watching our cartoon hero ingest in extraordinary quantities while looking out for the well-being of that fair maiden Olive Oil. Spinach with its uniquely dark color brought on by photochemical, minerals and vitamins is a great disease fighting foods that can help you keep your heart healthy and provide many of the daily nutrients that you need. Several ways in which you can utilize spinach include placing it in pasta, pizza, stews and even soup. After defrosting and removing the liquid from a box the spinach it can be chopped and then placed in with cooked dishes. Another use for this healthy food for the heart is as a potato topper. Take steamed spinach, a little olive oil, some lemon, mix with garlic and presto, you have a low-fat potato topper.

In your search for healthy food for the heart oatmeal and spinach can be two great additions to any diet. By utilizing these two foods any individual can make significant strides towards their own heart health and in today’s world of fast food, eating a heart healthy diet will help you live longer and avoid disease

Bamboo tends to be far more of a restaurant title than a main ingredient – think Bamboo Garden with a lunchtime buffet as opposed to a heart-healthy ingredient for your home-cooked dinner. But bamboo, long a diet staple as well as a cure for what ails you in Asian countries, could quickly be an essential ingredient in the fight against cancer and heart disease in the United States.

Already, we know that bamboo charcoal and bamboo vinegar are purifying agents which can keep us healthy regardless of whether it’s with their antibacterial properties or as a source of Far Infrared Rays that may be absorbed by the human body to help improve circulation. (Much of this might be attributed to the presence of phenols which give bamboo its antioxidant, antibacterial and antiviral properties, the study found.)

But now researchers have found that bamboo contains antioxidants, a critical buzzword for the fight against cancer. A write-up published in Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety pointed out that bamboo shoots “contain anti-carcinogenic agents,” and that “bamboo-derived pyrolysates have been proposed to have antimicrobial and antifungal activities and to protect neurons from oxidative stress.”

For those searching for a healthier diet plan, there is more excellent news about the health rewards of bamboo shoots. The study, led by Nirmala Chongtham, a botany professor at Panjap University, found the study suggests that they [bamboo shoots] possess health benefits “from cancer prevention and weight reduction to lowering cholesterol levels.”

Young bamboo shoots “are wealthy in nutrient components, primarily proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, and fibre and are low in fat and sugar.” Whilst some may take multi-vitamins every day, one could easily pop some bamboo shoots as they are an excellent source of thiamine, niacin, vitamins A, B6, and E, potassium, calcium, manganese, zinc, copper, iron, and chromium, and contain 17 various amino acids, eight of which are necessary for human health.

And if you attempting to combat a lifetime of greasy food or just eat a healthier diet, throw some bamboo shoots into a salad to make the most of the phytosterols, phytonutrients which are similar to cholesterol yet have been shown to inhibit the absorption of cholesterol in the intestinal tract and aid in lowering “bad” LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol.

Some smaller markets in the States carry bamboo fiber which can simply be added to baked goods, sauces, cereals and other foods within your pantry.

So not only can you make your diet plan more eco-friendly by including a sustainable ingredient like bamboo, but you may make it healthier too!
